Corporate Express Buyout Suspends Staples Buyback

The recent purchase of Corporate Express by office supply giant Staples has put the buyback program on hold. For the next 18 months, the program is suspended so Staples can focus on paying off the debt involved in the Corporate Express deal. From the deal, staples hopes to gain more business in the corporate deliveries which was Corporate Express' specialty.

Office Max Shares at a Low Point

The OfficeMax shares have been reported at an all time low for the past 52 weeks. The shares closed out at 18.10. The OfficeMax has been moved to S&P 500.

Speculation is that the shares may have lowered in wake of Staples buyout of Corporate Express not that long ago. Staples continues to be a monster in the office supply realm. After a couple of months, Staples is still trying to win the bid of Corporate Express, a Dutch Company.

They have made offers in the past, but the current offer is 14 percent more than before! They say that the shareholders cannot match the current bid from staples.

Ditch the Disposable DVD's

Ok, what is the deal with disposable DVD's. Now come on. Why would you buy a DVD for 5 bucks just to have it inactivate in 48 hours. Why not just buy the actual DVD and keep it forever.

Let's not also remember that as the world is trying to go green, environmentally friendly, this scheme is completely the opposite. It is environmentally unfriendly!

Staples may bring business to Tucson

A plan has been set in motion for a new Staples store to move in to Campbell plaza in Tucson. There is even talk of another Staples store being built in Tucson after this one is up and running.

Now what is the point of that. I can see making a cheaper DVD for on trips that people can buy, but what is the point of only designing them to play for half and hour.
