New HQ for Office Depot

I think it is great that Office Depot has grown to need a new headquarters. I am happy to see a business that is thriving in today's economy. Maybe some heavier competition for Staples is in order as well.

Green Building Project for Office Depot

Office Depot has recently been pre-approved for a green building project for a prototype store in Austin, Texas. The company will be able to test run this environmentally friendly building at the end of June. The building will feature solar skylights, a reflective white roof, solar panels and a concrete parking lot (rather than asphalt).

Office Depot Gives Back to Small Businesses

Partnered with the internet superpower Google, Office Depot has decided to offer AdWords to small businesses. Perks like 50 dollars in free advertising are offered for signing up.

It is good to see some of the big guys helping out the small businesses. I know around my city, many small businesses go under before anyone even knows they are there.
