My step-father was joking with me the other day about how when I have children, they will be cared for by robot nannies. I just laughed it off thinking that there is no way a robot is touching my babies. What about office supplies, shoes or pharmacy products though.Stores like Staples, Walgreens, and Zappos are adopting a robot warehouse setup where the little bots bring the items to the people in a pac man sort of fasion. It sounds good, but I just wonder if people will be out of jobs because of this. To read about it visit, Newswise Science News | Three Engineers, Hundreds of Robots, One Warehouse.
[Ed note: I wonder if the bots care whether they sent you the right item... and if they send you the wrong item, I wonder if the bots care if they send you the wrong item again.. and again.. and again... oh... reminds of one distributor using such an automated system that went bankrupt.. I think because the bots could not send the customer the correct item often enough!]
