At Georgian college, students are becoming more aware of recycling and reducing their carbon footprints from knowledgable professors like Dianne Corrigan. The school already uses 30% recycled supplies. Every little bit counts.College, even more than high school, is when kids are shaped into the adults that will run our world in the future. If learning how to be green isn't in the lesson plan, how will they ever know? I think colleges everwhere should follow the example of Georgian college. My kids just went back to school and I read this article on green school supplies, Green back-to-school: the write stuff — Plenty Magazine. My youngest has asthma so when I read about the volatile organic compounds it made me feel better that I could get things that didn't have an irritating odor. There were other suggestions too such as asbestos free chalk and 100% recycled markers. Great for the environment and the classroom. Tags: back to school • green • school supplies • markers • 0 Comments. - Permalink |
