Staples Inc. sales down by 43 percent

The world's largest office supply producer, Staples Inc., announced that its third quarter profits fell by as much as 43 percent due to hefty acquisition fees. Without the fees, however, profits are actually more than last year's.

This has pushed the company's stock value by around 7 percent North American sales, meanwhile, were actually stronger than what Wall Street analysts had predicted.
