Auction for Office Supplies

I have heard of auctions to sell things in foreclosed homes or for the things that the family of deceased members have no use for, but this auction tops all. In this article, From bland to bizarre, it outlines the many things that the DuPage County Forest Preserve District will sell in its annual auction.

What struck me as strange was not the bat shaped kites or the nacho cheese machine, but office supplies. Yes they sold office supplies at the auction. Who would buy such a thing at an auction. I just can't imagine people bidding on things like paper clips and pencils. To each his own, I suppose.
