Accessories Go a Long Way

By News Minder at 07/23/08 17:16
According to a recent article, Digital Camera Industry Must Accessorize for Success, the digital camera sales in Canada will only improve with the addition of accessories to the stores. I know that there are many other things that you need when purchasing a camera so it seems to make sense.

They say in the article that there really is a lack of accessories meaning that even though people buy cameras, the profits for the stores are not as good as they could be. There are things like lenses, bags, batteries, memory cards and more that could really help out with sales.

Why Cheat Your Employer?

By News Minder at 07/23/08 17:05
It never really made sense to me to steal from the person or company that was giving me my paycheck. Some people do just that though. They cheat and lie and steal. It really is disgusting.

They may just be taking something as simple as office supplies but it can really be detrimental to a company. It doesn't do anyone any good especially if the person gets caught. To read an article about why people steal from their employers visit, No five-finger discounts allowed : Editorials : Anderson Valley Post.

Some people are sceptical of the green movement

By News Minder at 07/21/08 12:51
I personally have always believed in recycling things that could be recycled. I am by no means an extremist in this area though. I do my part and try to buy products that represent companies with a green outlook. Some people though do not really think it is worth their time.

Some think that there is no way that one person turning off their lights will make a difference and they are probably right, but it is when many people have the same mindset that something really makes a difference. To read an opinion of a nonbeliever in the green movement visit, timestranscript.com - Ouch! Becoming 'green' is starting to hurt.

Becoming a Certified Green Business

By News Minder at 07/21/08 12:41
It may not sound like a huge effort for a company to change its ways and recycle a little, but it actually presents quite a challenge in some aspects of the process. Sure, you can cut back on electricity and water usage and save money by recycling and reusing, but businesses want these changes to be apparent to customers and the general public as well.

This is where a green business certification would come in. Unfortunately, there may be some out there that do not deliver all that they say they will. Since there is no regulation or guidelines for these certifications yet, people may be easily mislead. To read more about the certifications visit, Navigating the Wilderness of Green Business Certifications.

Stealing Office Supplies on the Job is a Serious Offense

By News Minder at 07/21/08 12:29
I often have seen coworkers waltz over to the supply cabinet, take pens, pencils or whatever, and walk right out the door with them. Just because you are an employee of a company does not give you any special rights to go ahead and steal from your workplace. I doesn't matter if you are a newbie or a seasoned veteran. It is just wrong.

Take this story for example, Veteran OPP officer faces theft charges. This man thought he could get away with stealing office supplies and gasoline from his workplace. Unfortunately he was wrong as he got charged with four counts of theft! So just think again when you take supplies for your own personal use from your job.

Office Supply Shareholders feel the burn

By News Minder at 07/18/08 14:16
With sales down in the market as a whole, Office Depot shares fell way below the mark. Before they release a report, they warned shareholders that it may not be pretty. After that news, the stocks changed hands many times with about 8 times the normal trading volume going on.

Office Max and Staples also saw a decrease in value. Maybe because of the association with the office supply industry. To read more visit, As Office Depot plunges, 2 other office supply companies take hit.
